Marketing Coordinator




As the Marketing Coordinator, you will work with the Director of Communications and the Communications team to ideate and execute all marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate must be obsessed with building awareness and positioning Student Voice as the leader of the movement of young people revolutionizing education. The position will utilize strategic communications for social impact and must have an understanding of how graphic design, web design, writing, photography, social media marketing, event marketing and company communications all intersect for Integrated Marketing Communications campaigns. The ability to create and implement advertising strategy through a variety of mediums is a must. You will also need to have proven experience in leading a team and marketing campaigns. High competency of the student voice space is a bonus.


  • Set the vision for the Communications team by evaluating and developing marketing strategies, planning and coordinating marketing efforts, and communicating the marketing plans to those involved
  • Lead the concept development, production, and distribution of all promotional and marketing efforts, including print/physical, digital (email, SMS, social media), media campaigns, and press initiatives in partnership with the Director of Communications
  • Continue the trajectory of high traffic across all digital mediums to increase exposure of Student Voice and support communications initiatives
  • Work in partnership with the Director of Communications, the Communications team, and third-party vendors on the creation, management, and publication of assets and collateral
  • Develop marketing campaigns that address a number of goals, such as brand awareness, engagement, fundraising, new partnerships, and operational goals
  • Continuously track marketing performance using a variety of tools, such as Google Analytics, Mailchimp, Google Search Console and social media ad information
  • Be a servant leader for Student Voice, the wider student voice movement and the U.S. student community as a whole


  • A high school or college student with at least 15 hours/week of dedicated work time
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience developing successful presentations
  • A positive can-do spirit and passion for the nonprofit sector
  • Self-motivation and an eye for detail with enthusiasm for juggling multiple tasks
  • Comfortable working with a remote team
  • Experience with Google Drive, Slides, Docs, Sheets, and MailChimp
  • Experience working with Twitter, Facebook, Facebook pages, LinkedIn, and Instagram
  • Ability to be highly responsive in a remote setting
  • Experience with multimedia production such as photography and videography
  • Knowledge of thought leadership topics in the sector such as nonprofit building, education, education inequity, and the Student Bill of Rights
  • Visual and web design experience is a huge bonus
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign is a bonus
  • Possess growth mindset
  • Understanding of intersectional movement building
