For Immediate Release: Tuesday, July 18, 2017
Student Voice is seeking students to join its first cohort of ambassadors. The Student Voice Ambassadors Program will bring together students from across the United States to further the organization’s commitment to student representation and equitable schools. Ambassadors will conduct listening tours within their states with a focus on equity. The ambassadors will amplify the voices of students in their community by writing op-eds, and they will have the opportunity to grow their network by sharing their work to a broader audience in innovative spaces, such as education conferences.
Ambassadors will have the support of the entire Student Voice team but will primarily interact with Ambassador Coordinator, David Goncharuk, and Policy Director, Tamir Harper.
The Ambassador program application will open on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 and will close four weeks later on Wednesday, August 16, 2017. Applicants will find out if they were selected to be a Student Voice Ambassador by Sunday,August 20. Students who were not selected to become ambassadors will be added to Student Voice’s virtual network and online community, where they will be the first to know about any upcoming Student Voice projects. If interested, students who are not initially chosen as Student Voice Ambassadors can still submit op-eds for consideration and are encouraged to re-apply for the next cohort of ambassadors.
